Yes. Unfortunately price action is very time intensive to look for if you don't have the software doing the heavy lifting which is why we use TS, MC, or NT to show the signals for us. However, it may not be as cost-prohibitive as you might think to get one of these platforms! TradeStation: TradeStation (http://www.tradestation.com) requires a 5,000.00 minimum for new accounts and charges a 99.00/mo platform fee for clients who don't use them as a clearing broker. 10 round-trip trades a month through them as a broker secures free platform usage. Data for Futures and Equity markets are additional monthly expenses. TradeStation is what I prefer for charting because there are some nice features like hotkeys and an overall less-bug free workspace to trade in. Don't want to clear your trades through TradeStation? Keep a small account with them and do 10 trades a month with them to cover your platform fees and then switch over to another account with AMP and use their datafeed to enter your primary orders for the month. NinjaTrader: Want to trade futures but don't want to put 5K into an account? Brokers like AMP Futures (http://www.ampfutures.com) provide 2000.00 account minimums and 500.00 or lower intraday margin requirements. That simply cannot be beat. When you open up an account with AMP you get the NinjaTrader platform and a ZenFire (best in the industry) datafeed! In addition there are no monthly data or platform fees! I personally clear my orders through AMP using NinjaTrader and use charting from TradeStation. MultiCharts: For those of you who don't mind a few more bugs but an overall smooth package MultiCharts (http://www.tssupport.com/) might just be the lower cost option for you. While still 99.00/mo (you can get lower rates with longer license purchases and buy a lifetime license for 1497.00) you can feed the platform with free live data from a great broker called Open E Cry. You can open up a Mini-FX account with Open E Cry (http://www.openecry.com) for 250.00 and get free real time data to all forex AND futures markets. So you could be trading with real time data and a full platform package for as little as 350.00! The catch is that MultiCharts support leaves something to be desired and unless you've got (or can get) MultiCharts v4.0 there is no way for me to export an indicator for you that will work at the current time.
